When world famous movie star Griffin Carter drops into his home town to speak at Career Day he meets Annie Beal again and his entire life changes. Although rude to him initially, she is attracted to him and put off that he doesn't remember her. Both Griffin and his best friend and manager, Cory, have fallen under annie's spell and their friendship begins to pay the price.
Barbara Romines tells a story of love, friendship and nefarious plans in I'm So Glad it Was You. This love triangle between old friends is your classic 'two boys both want the same girl and it breaks up their friendship,' but told in a totally unique way that is packed full of drama and action.
When Griffin's father Jasper receives an early release from prison, things really get interesting. Jasper is operating under the mistaken belief that his son owes him something and he's willing to go to unspeakable lengths to get retribution. Ms. Romines paints a spectacular picture of Annie, Cory, Griffin, and Jasper, and even the supporting characters.
The differences between the personalities of Annie and Griffin are clear but so are the reasons they fit so well together. She does a fantastic job of showing the power of friendship and hate, but most of all the powerful ties of love, whether platonic or romantic. Her portrait of the callous yet somehow reflective Jasper shos her talent for character deveolopmen and took I'm So Glad it Was You beyond your basic romance!
